Sections10

Your privacy is part of the trust Garrabna runs on. Here's what data we collect, what we use it for, and who sees it. Each section has a short summary before the legal text.

1.Data we collect

We collect the minimum we need for the service to work:

Mobile number:
to sign in to your account. Never shown to anyone.
Name:
shown next to your reviews, unless you choose to post anonymously.
Email (optional):
for the weekly digest and account recovery.
Content:
the reviews, posts, replies and photos you send.
Usage data:
device type, browser and IP address, to protect the site from abuse.

2.What we use it for

We use your data to run your account, check content before it's published, send the notifications you chose, and protect the site from fake accounts and paid reviews. We don't sell your data to anyone.

We process your data to provide the service you asked for (your account, reviews and notifications), because we have a legitimate interest in keeping reviews genuine and the site secure, and — for optional emails such as the weekly digest — because you consented. You can withdraw consent at any time from Settings.

3.What's public

Your name (or “Owner — anonymous” if you choose), and your reviews, posts and replies once published. Your mobile number, email and verification documents are never shown to anyone.

4.Verification documents

If you upload a contract or handover receipt for the “Verified owner” badge, only the review team sees it, and we delete it after verification.

Verification documents are stored encrypted, are visible only to the review team, and are deleted within 30 days of the verification decision. We keep only the fact that your ownership was verified, not the document itself.

5.Who sees your data

The Garrabna team, and service providers we work with (hosting, SMS, email) only as far as they need to provide the service. Developers never see your number or email, even if they reply to your review.

We use trusted providers for hosting, SMS one-time codes and email delivery. They process data only on our instructions and under confidentiality obligations. Your data is stored on servers inside and outside Egypt with appropriate safeguards; we don't share it with developers, advertisers or data brokers. We disclose data to authorities only when Egyptian law requires it.

6.Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember your language and dark mode. There are no advertising cookies.

Essential cookies: your sign-in session (until you log out or after 30 days of inactivity), your language and your theme (12 months). We also use privacy-friendly, aggregated analytics without advertising identifiers. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work, but you'll need to sign in again.

7.Your rights

You can view or edit your data in settings, ask for a copy, or delete your account at any time. If you delete your account, your published reviews stay under “Former user” unless you ask us to delete them too.

Under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) you have the right to know what data we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to object to or restrict its processing, and to have it deleted. Email privacy@garrabna.com and we'll reply within 30 days.

8.Data security

Your data is encrypted in transit, and access is limited to as few team members as possible.

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest for sensitive data, role-based access for the team, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we'll tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

9.Changes to this policy

If we change something important in this policy, we'll notify you at least 30 days in advance.

10.Contact

If you have a question about your data or want to use any of your rights, get in touch.
